‘Toddler Approved’? I mean, this could easily be labeled as ‘Adult Approved’! Who wouldn’t want to eat out of an ice cube tray filled with lots of colorful options?
Picky eaters are usually also known as toddlers. We’ve been blessed with an overall good eating toddler. Some of Roy’s favorite foods include tomatoes, avocados, broccoli, green beans, nuts, strawberries, watermelon and dragon fruits to name a few. I’m not sure if it’s due to us introducing colorful eating at an early age or if it’s just because he is who he is. Nevertheless, we do think it’s at least partially due to our belief that in order to help encourage Roy develop healthy eating habits or any habits for that matter; we simply need to model the wanted behaviors. Toddlers are such copy-cats and they just love to imitate everything others do! With that said, we’re not the perfect parents by any means. And yes, I’ve been spotted running after my son with a spoon to get him to eat something on his picky days.
Even with a good eater, it’s good to mix things up every once in a while. That’s when the Toddler Approved Ice Cube Tray Colorful Buffet comes in handy! A more fun way to eat any meal and a great way to offer a variety of healthy options. You can use anything! In this buffet, I offered Roy: steamed broccoli, whole grain bread, string cheese, steamed carrots, strawberries, corn, edamame and cashews.
